In the beginning...

So, I decided to start this blog today. I noticed this morning (after Labor Day weekend spent mostly in the apartment), that I had hit somewhere around 198 when I stepped on the scale. For those of you that don't know me, I'm about 5'5" in height, and I'll be 40 years old in November. I've pretty much NEVER paid much attention to what I eat, and for most of my life this has worked. Over the past 10 years or so, I've steadily put on weight, and I'm reaching a tipping point (haha, tip the scales), and I'm about ready to change things up a bit.

My exercise regime (cough)...

I get a lot of aggression out daily... online. I play World of Warcraft (WoW). I've been playing WoW for almost 3 years now. While this does quite a bit for me mentally (unload the days frustration into a mindless, computer controlled bad guy), unfortunately, this does nothing for me physically (nothing good anyhow). I don't expect to stop playing this game as a result of trying to lose weight, but I do expect that my eating habits while I'm at home will change, along with some reduced time on the game eventually so I can get a little real-world exercise.

My eating habbits...

Generally, I munch regularly throughout the day, have no breakfast, a good lunch, and some sort of reasonable dinner. I'm single, and for the most part, I eat lunch at the local eatery at work. Dinner varies (lately) from delivery food to frozen microwavable dinners. I used to cook more that I do now, but I've basically lost my interest in making a mess in the kitchen.

Ultimate goal:
Get within my prescribed weight range, and make sure other health indicators are within norms for someone of my size/age, etc.

What will show up here:
- My eating diary (maybe),
- a weigh-in (weight in when I post, and post my weight).
- I may post photo progress, but I'm not entirely sure about this one.
- Any thoughts or experiences that I have while doing this.

Why am I blogging this?
Primarily so that I'll be inclined to update it and stay on the program. Other eyes are watching now, and they want results!
